Here is Ethan at the dinner table doing some sign language. We have videos that the boys watch and learn all kinds of signs. Ethan's favorite video is the one that teaches "feelings". He is sooooo funny! Before you see those, you can laugh at him trying to snap. There is a snap involved in the sign for "dog". Enjoy!

Day 4
The Christmas Season - Part 2
On Christmas day, we decided to take a walk to the duck pond to feed the ducks. It was such a pretty day - perfect for a walk. The ducks were hungry, but unfortunate for them, the seagulls were more hungry. Every time the boys would throw a piece of bread in, the gulls would snatch it before the ducks could. Poor ducks! Smile! Please Smile! Come on Ben,...fine!
Having a little bottle. Kate was hungry too!

Fun times with grandpa and grandma!
A sandbox for Christmas. 6 feet of sand to play in, complete with storage compartment for sand toys which also doubles as a little bench to sit on while the kiddies play!
The National Zoo
The National Zoo!We discovered that the best day of the year to go the zoo is on New Year's Day. We went first thing in the morning, parked in the closest parking lot, enjoyed the animals with NO ONE ELSE (they were all home enjoying their day off I guess), and got home for nap time and the football game the guys wanted to see! Brilliant! Guess where we will be next year on New Year's Day?

Day 3
The Christmas Season - Part 1
We found the greatest little tree farm about an hour away from our house, so we decided to cut down our own tree this year. This is another one of those outings that gets me all excited...you know "the perfect family day"! Well, it was raining and Ethan was in a foul mood. So instead of combing the farm for the perfect tree while the kiddies play at our side, we threw Ethan over our shoulder and said "that one 'il do". No, it was not that horrible. Luke had a great time. The farm had donkeys and horses to pet, hot chocolate, and even a candy cane hunt (which Ethan even loved)! We did find a great tree and had a great time!
Home to dec the halls
Christmas Morning
Grandpa and Grandma Smith came on Christmas Eve and were able to stay all through the next week! We all had a great time. The boys loved having grandpa to wrestle with and I loved having grandma to do my laundry!!
Ethan opening his "Adam Raccoon" books by Glen Keene. Side note: these are GREAT books!!We got one in a pile of books someone had given us and we LOVED it. They teach biblical truths like salvation and following Jesus in parable form. They are all out of print, but you can still find them on line. You just have to have them shipped from different places.
